Have you heard about the 3rd Nations? By its definition, 3rd Nations indicate the countries which do not belong to both communism and capitalism, the two most dominant governmental structures. Those nations are usually ¡°Developing Countries¡± rather than ¡°Developed Countries¡± and some of them are even ¡°Undeveloped¡± ones. This concept has been arisen after the World War¥± and the cold war period, the epoch in which communist countries(represented by USSR) and capitalist countries(best represented by USA) were acutely brandishing their swords toward each other. The cold war had engendered some serious world issues such as the Cuban missile crisis and the Korean War. Opposing to this competence between two camps, a new ¡°position¡± that insisted the ¡°World Peace¡± was the 3rd nations. Because at that time, most major countries that seized power were either part of the communist camp or the capitalist camp, the remaining countries, including those in Asia and Africa, that do not have strength to keep their nations safe from foreign powers had to accompany with each other to create one distinct camp.
However, The incrementing number of people in the 3rd nations is dying from hunger and poverty, each of them sustaining their lives with just one or two dollars per a week. Making this problem worse, many developed nations usurp the natural resource such as petroleum and labor force. This economical ailment of those nations attribute a lot to the ¡°vicious cycle¡± of becoming poorer. In fact, most of the young students, because they cannot afford education and use amenities, are illiterate in the 3rd nations. Since literacy rate of a country indicates the potential of the country, the 3rd nations cannot find the breakthrough if they do not solve the problem of child education.
Then, what can the developed nations do to help the developing nations? First, the developed countries can supply materials for education such as notebooks or pens for them. Because of the lack of those materials many young children cannot study even if they want to. Moreover, the education volunteering activity of the developed countries can help the young children. As mentioned before, education is one of the most important factor for making the basis for development and must be reinforced to make the underdeveloped countries go over the ¡°barricade¡± of poor economic conditions.
